The weather outside is Frightful, but the snow is so delightful!

Well, for a girl from upstate NY the weather is delightful but to the many people around me here in middle TN the weather is frightful!

Last week I was putting the final touches on this layout that I was creating for a workshop I have next week and was so disappointed because I didn't have any snow pictures to put on it. We had a little bit of snow this year but not enough to cover the ground and nothing picture worthy for sure! God heard my hearts desire and sent us this beautiful snow Friday morning!

The kids were so excited to see the snow and anxiously watched the windows as I tried to get them through our school day. Once the last subject was covered the pleas to go play in the snow abounded!!! Well of course, we ALL had to play in it. Daddy was still at work but Mommy was up to the challenge to lead the biggest snowball fight the kids have ever seen. We had a blast!!!

Tinkerbell, one of my most colorful children, shows her colors here with her swim 'er I mean snow goggles on. Goggles... in snow.... what is she thinking? There is no telling but she loved it and wanted them on. They weren't hurting anyone and she looked hilarious so why not! She definitely keeps us laughing!

Of course, we had to build a snowman too. The kids and I had a blast rolling the snow around to make the biggest balls that we could. Daddy arrived home just in time to put them on top of one another and finish it off for us. However, as we were building our new friend, we realized that he took on a look of one of our old time favorite movie characters - ET! Can you see it?

We rounded our night off with Tote and Toto! OK, for the rest of you (and me until it was explained) that is my dear sweet husbands name for Toast and Coco! This is apparently the way he said it when he was little and it stuck. I don't know about you but I like Toast and Coco better but we all have our memories and traditions and as traditions go, this one isn't too bad.

Scrapbooking the Weekend Away!

This last weekend I was asked by some sweet friends to join them for some scrapbook time at a local state park. My wonderful hubby was kind enough to let me take the weekend away and relax. The funny part of these weekends is that relaxation is not the point - the point: to scrapbook the entire weekend with as few breaks as possible and get as much accomplished as possible. Though this sounds crazy - it actually is relaxing for the true scrapbooker. Especially me - no kids coming in every 3 minutes, looking through my pictures I have just sorted through, stamping on my paper I was about to use for journaling or asking for the hundredth time if they can "help". I do love to scrapbook with the kids but sometimes it is just nice to scrapbook and enjoy some quiet time.
I thought I would share just a few of the layouts I worked on during my time away.

Do you see a pattern here? I love that my kids are in sports but I always seem to be behind on scrapbooking the seasons. I wont tell you how old the softball layout is. Let's just say the player is Whiz Kid. WOW!!! How time flies! I was able to make all the soccer layouts with one paper pack - Close to My Heart's "Game On" paper. This paper is very simplistic with only the colors of Black, Grey and Bamboo throughout the paper which makes it very versatile for all sports. All I did was add a coordinating color to the layouts to match the jersey's color and Viola! Hope you like!
