Having fun Playing with ProPlayer
Last night was my monthly workshop and it so much fun catching up with friends and creating. I look forward to my workshops to do just that - Laugh, chat and scrap! During this month, our first month of the new Fall/Winter Catalog, we played with the new Proplayer paper pack.
Using the Workshop on the Go Proplayer Pack here are the layouts we created:
Though this paper definitely has an electronic theme to it, the double sided paper gives it so many options - sports, outdoor and family fun activities.
This last layout was my original creation using the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge. This new cartridge is so much fun and has SO MANY options! The best option is how it has 10 layouts pre-programmed to be cut at the exact measurements needed for a perfectly balanced layout. Love that! No more measuring and adjusting the pieces to fit - perfect every time! Oh yeah!!!

Do you Groove? Groovebook that is…
I don’t now about you but now that they make phones with decent cameras, I never hesitate to take a picture when I’m out and about. My kids don’t hesitate to take pictures of them and their friends either. So I tend to have a bunch of pictures on my phone that just seem to hang out there because, well, I forget about them. Or they may be good pictures but I don’t have a specific use for them yet – a layout, a frame, whatever.
Well, when I was at convention this summer I started hearing about people talking about this new think – Groovebook. It was a monthly service that is automatically printed and mailed to you monthly. They come in this neat little book that you can tear the perforated pictures out of. The pictures are a little thinner then what you might get printed off at Costco or Wolf Camera but they are perfect for sending grandparents pictures (you can even send them the whole book one month), giving your kids the pictures they took or using them for our new My Crush books (shown below).
Here is a picture of the book as I received it:
.
Here is the inside of the book:
I have received the book for two months now and love it. My kids look so forward to getting it and tearing out “their” pictures. The best part – the monthly fee is only $2.99! That is actually the fee for shipping. How awesome is that.
Try it for yourself:
- Just download the FREE Groovebook app on your phone
- Follow the signup instructions
- Enter this promo code HICKS60 during checkout to get your first book absolutely free!
- Begin reviewing and uploading your photos.

FREE and Cute Stationary
Have you noticed the blinking and changing box right beside this post? You know, the one that says Rediscover CTMH or changes to Rediscover Happiness and so forth. Have you tried clicking on it to see what it would do? Give it a try!
Close to My Heart is taking the rest of the year to show you who they are are. Each month they will share with you a little gift. This month it is decorated stationary pages that all you have to do is select and print. They can be used for a quick note to a friend, a reminder to get milk, a love note to your kids in their lunch box - it's up to you. So, go ahead and give it a click and download your free stationary through August 31st.
Wonder what they will have for September...

A Canvas Workshop
Had a great time tonight with a couple friends and customers as we put together our Canvas workshops that we received last month on special. This workshop was super easy and so beautiful when completed. The kit came with two color patterns to choose from but both are equally beautiful. Because of the two color options, there were enough supplies to make a whole 'nother canvas or layout.
Here are Cynthia and Jeanette and their canvases - aren't they beautiful!
If other, beautiful and simple projects, check my website now.
