Whew, I finally have all the details together for the Christmas Workshop.  Did you think it wasn't going to happen?  I have to admit, I wondered myself. Christmas is the most wonderful, busiest, craziest, amazing and wonderful (I know I said wonderful twice :)) time of the year!  However, I do finally have it done and ready to share.  So, start the year off right and join  us...

I love the Workshop on the Go layout so we will definitely be making this gorgeous layout:

The next layout we will create was inspired by Dana Swaddling, another CTMH consultant, but with a few modifications:

This is front or first layout but look at that glossy spot on the left page (only glossy because of the sun)....  Guess what that is?!?  A large flip-flap!

The left page has some large flip flaps on it allowing it to open up to this layout:

I left a little peak of the right page showing in the picture so you could see how this layout would flow together. This is a fun technique to use for those layouts that you always have a bunch of pictures for.  It keeps them all together and gives the viewer an interactive look into your pages.

Photo printing at it's Best!

I am so excited to be in Utah right now getting ready to attend a Close to My Heart Album Retreat done by our Home Office and only for consultants.  (I love my job and all the perks that come with it!)  To prepare for the retreat, we received an e-mail with all the photos and sizes for each layout that we would need. We didn't get any peeks at the layouts but were told the theme and colors.  To help aid in our photo printing, we also receive a 5 pack of Studio J layouts that were pre-set up for us drop our photos and go.  These layouts were printed and ready for me at the beginning of the retreat - oh yeah!  This was such an easy process and the absolutely best (and cheapest) way to get my different size photos printed for my layouts.

My picture doesn't do it justice because it is so dark in our hotel room but the quality and crispness is amazing! Can you see all the different sizes of the pictures?  On this one 2-page "layout" I had 6- 4x6 photos and 12- 3x3 photos. On my other layouts I had 5x7's, 2x2's and even a 6x6. I loved being able to select my photos and have them sized to the exact measurement I needed for my scrapbooking layouts.   This cuts down on cost because instead of getting 6 4x6 pictures that I am going to crop down, I now get 12 2x2's that are shrunk to get everything I want in the picture and the right size.

The process was super easy too!  I just logged in to Studio J, uploaded the photos I wanted to have printed (there were over 75 photos that I uploaded), and selected Express Collections. Here there are always two pre-designed scrapbook layouts from our paper collection to choose from, currently  Nevermore and Sangria but changing every month.  There are also two options for just photos: Photo Mix and a group called Photo Collection that has several different "layouts" to choose from.  You literally drag and drop the photos you want into the correct size boxes and you are good to go! 2 page layouts are only $6.95 and can be purchased when you complete 4 or more layouts.  Each purchase comes with the photo prints and JPG of your layouts and shipping is awesome!  Only 5.95 for up to 50 layouts!  WOW!!!

Hello Sunshine!

If you remember, a few weeks back I held a Girl's Night Out Workshop where the focus was on our new watercolors.  If you haven't had a chance to play with them yet - you need to!  They can add so much color to dark papers and a soft touch of color light paper with a little extra water.

Here are some of the cards I made previous to class to show some VERY simple techniques.

 Hello cut the Artistry Cricut Cartridge. The same cut used for the Zoe Workshop, just enlarged. I did the cards (above and below) with only two colors on both cards but image what they would look like  with the Ombre' technique.

My favorite card out of the three.  A simple card cut using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge.  It looks so bright and cheerful and will definitely lift anyone's mood.

I love this layout Close to My Heart recently showed on their blog:

Though we only made cards, this beautiful layout shows that watercolor paints can be used for all sorts of craft projects.  LOVE THAT!

Overlayin'
