Exciting Changes coming to your Craft with Heart Subscription

I am so excited to tell you about some of the amazing changes CTMH is making to their Scrapbooking and Cardmaking Subscription programs called Craft with Heart. If you have never heard of their Craft with Heart program, let me tell you a little about it.

A few years ago, Close to My Heart came out with a subscription program with beautiful layouts and/or card kits that had everything included for you to create, including full-color instructions, die cuts, base pages, etc. All you need is adhesive and a journaling pen. Each kit is beautiful and looks intricate while actually being super simple to put together (layouts take an average of 30 minutes to complete and cards 5 minutes each to complete).  You had the option of receiving a box monthly or every 4 months and they gave you the option of signing up for a month, every 4 months or annual payments.  With each tier there were incentives to help save money - the 4-month kit and annual payment plan were discounted, as well as, the annual subscribers received FREE shipping and 30 FREE prints at Persnickety Prints per shipment.

Here is a sampling of the current Craft with Heart kits.

Scrapbooking: receive 2 layouts for each month, or 8 layouts per each 4-month shipment

Cardmaking:Receive 24 cards (2 of each design) in each 4-month shipment.

CTMH has seen such an amazing response to customers purchasing the 4-month and annual subscriptions that they have decided to discontinue the monthly subscription, because, really, who wants to pay full price when you can get the kits at a discount and are now offering even more perks to those participating in the annual subscription.

Beginning September 1st when you sign up for a annual subscription or renew your subscription for either the Scrapbooking or Cardmaking Craft with Heart program you will now receive a FREE stamp with your subscription box.

The scrapbooking stamp set is perfect for sayings to highlight your pictures and help tell your story of the events in the pictures.

The Cardmaking stamp  set is a perfect addition to stamp your envelopes or the back of your cards.

PLUS:

  • Now when you sign up or renew your subscription you EARN V.I.P. Credit on your subscription. Credits can not be used towards your subscription but they do earn you credits - that is 15% of the cost of your subscription to be used on future Close to My Heart orders!!!
  • The amount paid for a Craft with Heart™ subscription on each order counts toward earning the Stamp of the Month at a discount or free for VIP's

If you haven't tried the Craft with Heart subscription programs, I highly encourage you to.  They super cute and a fun way to receive quality scrapbooking or cardmaking supplies at your door  3 times a year that will help you preserve your memories, faster, simpler and easier then ever before.  Head on over to my website to see the next layouts being shipped in the September subscription box.  And as always -

Happy Scrappin',

Heather

What are you working on?

I get asked all the time what projects I am working on and though I would love to answer with the latest layout I can show off, I am a mom to start with and am usually working on something a little less luxurious then fun layouts but rather homeschool papers and tests.  However, last week I was given the opportunity work on something fun - the invitation for my daughter's birthday party.  She loves to cook so we decided on a Cupcake Wars themed party. No, not a war where you throw cupcakes at one another (which my youngest son with earnestly hoping for :)) but a bake off to see which team could create the tastiest and best looking cupcakes.

So anyway, here are the invitations...

Aren't they cute!?!  I love how they turned out!  I used Close to My Heart's Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut out the cards and pieces and fancied them up with  lots of  Gems, Sparkles, a little rick rack, and my favorite but retired - Liquid Applique.  This stuff is awesome. You squeeze it out and it looks like paint but when you heat it up it puffs up.  It gave it a great icing feel.

Once I got those invitations knocked out, I was off to work on my son's high school tutorial's formal invitation.  I had this great idea and in my head it would be so easy.... in my head.  Let's just say these were not the easiest invitations to make but they didn't look that difficult in the end either - trust me - it was all in the process!

The theme this year was Once Upon a Time as many of the seniors love and visit Disney as often as they can.  It's hard to tell it in the picture but the wording was done in silver foil and the castle was heat set in blue foil.  It's this new technique I learned about where the Deco Foil will adhere to anything printed in toner once put it through a laminator.  Though this is technically the truth, it helps if your font is larger then what mine was. After having the invitations specially printed and then foiling at home, the foil didn't adhere perfectly each time so I had to redo these a few times (ok a lot).  Once I finally got the foil to stick, I stamped the fireworks using the retired stamp set "It's a Party"  and heat embossed them in silver embossing powder.    I love that I can use my older stamps and supplies any time.

What have you been working on?  Anything fun?  I'd love to see!  Anything with our amazing Cricut cartridges?  Don't have the one you want yet - just wait there is a great deal coming in April that might just help you get one.  Keep posted....

Christmas Isn't The Only Time for Gift Giving

Christmas is definitely the #1 time to give gifts but May and June are right up there too!  Between teacher gifts, graduations and weddings it seems like we are always trying to come up with some quick gift ideas.  Over the next couple days I hope to show you some of the quick gift items I have put together for some various events.

Here are some quick teacher gifts for my children's homeschool co-op teachers.

6 Women and
1 Man :)

All the containers were made with the Artiste Cricut  Cartridge.  The lady's baskets were made with the Laughing Lola papers and the Art Philosophy Stamp Sets.  This last gift box for the one gentleman teacher was made with the Scholastic papers and the April Stamp of the Month Balloon Talk.   These baskets were quick to put together and relayed the message of thanks to all who poured themselves into my children's lives.

Thank You Cards

In my last post I told you that my husband traveled to the Ukraine for a missions trip.  We were asked and he left for Ukraine all in the time frame of only one month!  Because this wasn't something we had anticipated we had to raise support for his trip.   This trip meant so much to us and we really wanted to show everyone our appreciation. I didn't feel like a simple store bought card was enough so I went to work on some handmade cards.  I keep a box of left over scraps of papers from all my workshops to make cards from.  Needless to say, I don't get to make many cards due to time constraints so my box was overflowing and gave me plenty of options :).  Many of these papers are retired, some are not, but I think they all turned out well.  What do you think?

This first card, I made with just a simple white card base from our value pack and stamped the chevron pattern from the In the Background stamp set with Honey ink three times in the middle of the card. I then placed a simple lagoon strip of cardstock in the middle with a large White Daisy Paper Flower in the center. In the middle of the flower, I used one of our Irresistible flowers, colored with honey.  I love our Irresistibles because there is always a resist pattern on them that will not allow the color to be picked up giving you a dimensional look that was easy-peasy.   On top of that, I added a lagoon flower from the For Always Accents.  The sentiment "Sincere Thanks" was stamped using the Card Chatter - Sympathy stamp set.
I also wanted to dress up the envelope so I simply added another Chevron stamp, this time stamped in lagoon.  You can see the envelope peaking through behind the card.
If you like the look of the Irresistibles, watch this video that Close to My Heart recently made, showing you some other wonderful things that can be done with them.

During the next couple days, I will give you a close up view of the other cards as well.  Keep checking back!

Hello from Cancun!!!

Well it has been a very busy week.  Last week started me off in Utah for Close to My Heart’s Album Retreat getting me back late Sunday night and leaving Monday night for Cancun!  It’s been a busy time but an absolutely wonderful time too!  Both trips have been amazing!!!

In my last post, however, I was telling you about the Album Retreat and I wanted to give you a closer peak into my weekend.  As soon as we arrived and were registered, we were ushered in to our event and immediately received another gorgeous shoulder tote.  This is the same bag we received at Convention last year but I absolutely love this bag. It has a vinyl cover to help keep it clean and fits my album, cutter and even my laptop for Studio J scrapbooking too!  I love it so much, I even brought it to Cancun with me for my carry on bag!  Anyway, back to the retreat – lol! Smile.
Aug 2012 Special
Inside the bag was all this wonderful product including a zipper down CTMH jacket, Black Scrapbook Album, 8 different stamp set, a ton of embellishments, and on and on.  I know this picture doesn’t do it justice to show how generous corp. was to us but it was the only picture I had time to take before they started us out on our first project!

As a special gift during one of our late night crops, we also received this cute little stamp set design my Jeannette Lynton, founder of Close to My Heart.  She made it specifically for the Album Retreaters.    The wording says “Friends make memories and the Heart preserves them.”  How cute is that!!!  We were also supplied with a package of our cute My Creations small paper pouches (Z1827) so we could create the following cards and gift bags. This was perfect as I always include a small card inside my kids lunch during our coop days, and being out of town on their next day, I wanted to make sure I had my cards ready before I left.  This helped me get things together ahead of schedule.  For the boys, I made a couple just like below but stamped in Pacifica blue  to make it a little more masculine Smile.    Just a little hug from mama as I was out of town.  I probably should have made some for the grandparents who watched the kids while we were away Winking smile.
